Competent Crew Basic Sailing Book or Shore Based Correspondence Course.

Competant  Crew Sailing Book The first sailing book in this series is recognized as a leader in its field, covers basic sailing, basic keelboat cruising, crewing, general seamanship, anchoring and docking, emergency procedures and the fundamental basic knowledge essentials to live aboard a cruising yacht. Also provides the home study, correspondence shore based course knowledge requirements for Competent Crew Sail ashore based certificate.

Ashore Based Certificate.

On completion of the book, and passing the ISPA online exam you can achieve the ashore portion of the ISPA Certificate of Competency for Competent Crew.



You will have the knowledge requirements to:

Live aboard a sailing vessel in tidal waters as Competent Crew. – In an emergency, be able to substitute as skipper. – Sail a vessel under 30 ft. where no navigational hazards exist within 5 miles of safe harbor during daylight hours only – in light to moderate wind conditions.

Day Skipper Intermediate Sailing Book or Shore Based Correspondence Course.

 

Day Skipper Sailing Book Recognized as a leader in its field, the second sailing book Includes; intermediate sailing, cruising knowledge, anchoring and docking, trailering, international buoyage system, collision regulations, passage preparation and planning, marine weather, tides and currents, and basic navigation knowledge. Also provides the home study, correspondence shore based course knowledge requirements for Day Skipper Sail ashore based certificate essential for bareboat chartering.

Ashore Based Certificate.

On completion of the book, and passing the ISPA online exam you can achieve the ashore portion of our Certificate of Competency for Day Skipper Sail.

You will have the knowledge requirements to:

Act as the skipper of a live aboard sailing vessel – to be responsible for the safety of his/her vessel and crew – while day sailing in familiar waters – within 10 miles of safe harbor – during daylight – in moderate wind and sea conditions using basic navigational skills.

This advanced Coastal Navigation course, is full of diagrams which step you through the complete course and chart work exercises. Highlights the easiest and most accurate art of navigation. On completion of the shore based correspondence course and passing the ISPA online exam, you can achieve the ashore portion of the ISPA Certificate of Competency.

The Coastal Skipper Advanced Sail book, provides advanced sail trim, asymmetrical, gennaker, electronic navigation, advanced anchoring, heavy weather, engine/boat system troubleshooting and much more for the Advanced Coastal Skipper who wants to bareboat charter in coastal/tidal waters internationally. Also provides the home study, correspondence shore based course knowledge requirements for Coastal Skipper Advanced Sail Shore Based Certificate

On completion of the book, and passing the ISPA online exam you can achieve the ashore portion of our Certificate of Competency for Coastal Skipper Sail.

You will have the knowledge requirements to:

Act as the skipper, and be responsible for the safety of your sailing vessel and crew for coastal passages within 50 miles of safe harbor – in coastal/tidal waters – where navigational hazards exist – day or night with good visibility.

To receive the full ISPA Certificate of Competency Coastal Skipper Sail, (the Coastal Navigation Course is a prerequisite, the on the water "Coastal Skipper Sail" practical skills course is also required, or with the required amount of experience, Challenge a standard.



Yachtmaster Offshore Sailing Book or Shore Based Correspondence Course.

Yachtmaster Offshore Sailing Book or Shore Based Correspondence Course Yachtmaster Offshore sail, the fifth and final sailing book in this comprehensive building block series, brings all of the knowledge and skills to a grand finale. Take Celestial Navigation as a back-up and go sailing around the world. Also provides the home study, correspondence shore based course knowledge requirements for Yachtmaster Offshore Sailing Shore Based Certificate.

Ashore Based Certificate.

On completion of the book, and passing the ISPA online exam you can achieve the ashore portion of our Certificate of Competency for Yachtmaster Offshore Sail.

You will have the knowledge requirements to:

Act as the skipper and navigator, to be responsible for the safety of his/her sailing vessel and crew, while making offshore passages within 150 miles of the coastline – where navigational and weather hazards exist – in any conditions – at any time day or night.

To receive the ISPA Certificate of Competency Yachtmaster Offshore Sail, the on the water "Yachtmaster Offshore Sail" practical skills course is also required. Please note the practical course cannot be challenged.
