ISPA Power boating instruction and certification in Competent Crew (Basic Power), Day Skipper (Intermediate Power Coastal Cruising), Coastal Navigation, Coastal Skipper (Advanced Power), Yachtmaster Offshore (Passage making), Yachtmaster Ocean.

    International Certificate of Competency
    ISPA Competent Crew Basic Power

    Certified as being competent to live aboard a coastal cruising power driven vessel and act as Competent Crew. In addition is competent to substitute as skipper in an emergency.
    Certified to skipper power driven vessels under 4 meters in non-tidal waters where no navigational hazards exist, within 5 miles of safe harbor, during daylight hours only, in light to moderate wind conditions.
    Day Skipper Power (Intermediate Power Boating)

    ISPA Day Skipper/Intermediate Power
    The holder is certified as the skipper to be responsible for the safety of his/her vessel and crew, while operating a power driven vessel, in familiar waters within 10 miles of safe harbor, during daylight, in moderate wind and sea conditions using basic navigational skills.
    Coastal Navigation.

    Shore based course.

    No navigation knowledge required.
    Preferably ISPA Day Skipper, or some on the water experience.
    Classroom course or Correspondence Course completing ISPA Coastal Navigation workbook and chart work exercises.

    Practical.

    ISPA Coastal Navigation Ashore Certificate.

    International Certificate of Competency ISPA Competent Crew.

    ISPA Practical Coastal Navigation standard as per Logbook. Intensive navigation practice.

    ISPA Coastal Navigation Certificate

    The holder is certified competent to navigate a cruising vessel safely, in coastal/tidal waters, within 25 miles of safe harbor, by day, using charts, a hand bearing compass, GPS, and navigational aids.

    ISPA Coastal Skipper

    Practical.

  • International Certificate of Competency, Competent Crew, Day skipper.
  • Coastal Navigation Coastal Skipper Ashore Certificate.
  • First Aid plus CPR.
  • VHF or GMDDS Radio.
  • Live aboard Course in Tidal waters.
  • ISPA Practical Coastal Skipper standard as per Logbook
  • Must stand a rotational navigational watch for the duration of the course. More details

    The holder is certified as the skipper, to be responsible for the safety of his/her sailing vessel and crew, for coastal passages within 50 miles of safe harbor, in coastal/tidal waters, where navigational hazards exist, day or night with good visibility.
