International Certificate of Competency

ISPA Competent Crew Basic/Sail.

Certified to live aboard a sailing vessel in tidal waters as Competent Crew. In an emergency, be able to substitute as skipper.

Competent to sail a vessel under 30 ft, where no navigational hazards exist, within 5 miles of safe harbor, during daylight hours only, in light to moderate wind conditions.

 

Day Skipper Sail: (Intermediate Coastal Cruising).

International Certificate of Competency

ISPA Day Skipper Intermediate/Charter Sail 

The holder is certified as the skipper of a live aboard sailing vessel, to be responsible for the safety of his/her vessel and crew, while day sailing in familiar waters, within 10 miles of safe harbor, during daylight, in moderate wind and sea conditions using basic navigational skills.

 

Coastal Navigation.

The holder is certified to be competent to navigate a cruising vessel safely, in coastal/tidal waters, within 25 miles of safe harbor, by day, using charts, a hand bearing compass, GPS, and navigational aids.

 Practical

International Certificate of Competency Coastal Skipper.

Yachtmaster Offshore Ashore certificate. 

Plus 600 miles 10 days as skipper.

VHF or GMDDS Radio.

First Aid plus CPR

Live aboard Course in Tidal waters.

International Certificate of Competency Yachtmaster Offshore.

Must stand a rotational navigational watch for the duration of the course.

Minimum 7 days covering  at least 250 miles with 

2 overnight passages

International Certificate of Competency ISPA Yachtmaster Offshore Sail

The holder is certified as the skipper and navigator, to be responsible for the safety of his/her sailing vessel and crew, while making offshore passages within 150 miles of the coastline, where navigational and weather hazards exist, in any conditions, at any time day or night.

Course to cover a minimum of 200 miles while more than 

 50 miles offshore.

ISPA Yachtmaster Ocean Sail

The holder is certified as the skipper and navigator, to be responsible for the safety of his/her vessel and crew for ocean passages, where navigational and weather hazards exist, in any conditions, at any time day or night.
