Flying Bulldog Sailing School 

FBSS is a Transport Canada approved Recreational Boating School (RBS) owned and operated by John Garfitt, ISPA IE, Yachtmaster Ocean, Sail and Yachtmaster Offshore, Power. The school is based out of Bowen Island, BC and operates S/V Warlock, a Baltic 51 centreboard cutter that is well equipped for offshore voyages and single-handed sailing.

Coastal Navigator / Coastal Skipper Cruise & Learn

FBSS offers 7 day Coastal Navigator and Coastal Skipper Cruise & Learn courses on demand throughout the spring, summer and fall in the waters between Desolation Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, including the Gulf Islands and San Juan Islands.

Yachtmaster Offshore

12 day Yachtmaster Offshore courses include circumnavigating Vancouver Island. These courses are scheduled on demand. The minimum prerequisites are Coastal Navigator and Coastal Skipper. Each course accepts up to 5 students.

Vic-Maui International Yacht Race

Crew positions are available aboard Warlock for the 2020 Vic-Maui International Yacht Race (www.vicmaui.org) in July and the return voyage in August.

Crew members must be able to participate in one or more Vic-Maui qualifying races such as: the Southern Straits (Apr 10 – 12) or the Swiftsure (May 23-25).

Newfound Land School:

 Sea School of Newfoundland was founded in 1999 by owner-operator Jim Miller . Jim has experience in the operation of sailboats, fast-rescue craft, small commercial vessels and cruising trawlers. He is a certified instructor with the International Sail and Power Academy.
Jim has sailed thousands of miles, both in his own boats and as volunteer crew with sailing friends. Many of his sailing adventures have been recounted in the Pleasure Boating column of The Navigator magazine
and on sailing websites.

The Everest of Fresh Water Sailing!
We offer a variety of courses starting with our 10-hour basic introduction class to our week-long CRUISE & LEARN sailing certification holiday.
Lake Superior Adventures will be instructing adults in the art of sailing using our 40 foot ocean capable sailboat. International Sail and Power Academy (ISPA) certification courses will prepare you for sailing your own boat on the Great Lakes or charter bareboat in the Caribbean and worldwide.
Competent Crew, Day Skipper and Coastal Navigation certification courses will all be taught on Lake Superior.
​Cruise and Learn Lake Superior courses will be live-aboard sailing holidays. Visiting Thompson Island, Loon Harbour, Silver Islet, Black Bay, Nipigon Bay, Red Rock, Rossport, Isle Royale and the Slate Islands.
